Public Relations & Communications reporting to Director of Marketing and Development
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, the intern will gain experience in the field of public relations and marketing through related tasks. Duties may include writing news releases, writing for the web and social media, proofreading and editing, pitching and escorting media, design and production of marketing pieces, and assisting with the planning, coordination and implementation of special events.
Under the supervision of the Curator and Director of Exhibits & Collections, the intern will be asked to perform a variety of duties In the field of Collections. Interns may be asked to perform registrar duties according to best museum practices, data entry of collection records, inventory museum storage area and establish a storage scheme. Knowledge of collections management/registration practices is preferred.
Students who are interested in informal education and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) will gain hands-on experience assisting with the development of lesson plans and camp programming, and teaching in an informal education environment. Students who are knowledgeable of education methods are preferred.
