Shows that changes in Earth's atmosphere
are investigated from outer space onboard the Shuttle using the Atmospheric
Laboratory for Applications and Science (ATLAS 1). Space Shuttle astronauts
explain the questions scientists hope can be answered by studying Earth's
atmosphere from space. Experiments discussed in this videotape focus
on infrared detection of atmospheric remnants from volcanic eruptions,
ozone concentration levels, and incoming solar ultraviolet radiation
