Pro-space advocacy organization, supports increased, less expensive human space travel, including a return to the Moon and visiting Mars. From this site you can ask an astronaut your question, find a local chapter and look at Ad Astra, NSS's membership magazine.

Apollo Lunar Surface Journal

1979, Courtney G. Brooks, James M. Grimwood, and Loyd S. Swenson, Jr. Out of print. Tells the story of the development of the Apollo Command and Service Modules and the people who designed and built them.

Moonport: A History of Apollo Launch Facilities and Operations

1978, Charles D. Benson and William Barnaby Faherty. Out of print.

Where No Man Has Gone Before: A History of Apollo Lunar Exploration Missions

1989, William David Compton. This account traces the ways scientists and engineers resolved their differences in approach to carry out the mission of putting men on the moon and returning them safely back to the Earth. Roughly half the book details preparation for the lunar landings, and the remainder details the lunar explorations following Apollo 11, in which 12 astronauts visited the Moon and brought back lunar samples for scientific analysis.
