| Frequently
Asked Questions
What is
the minimum number required to book a camp-in?
We require a minimum of 10 scouts and 2 adults ($390.00) per program.
If you do not have the minimum amount but another troop has already
booked you can be added to their numbers.
·What
time does the camp-in start and end?
Camp-in check-in is at 6:00 p.m. The camp-in is over at 10:00 a.m.
the next day.
Do you
provide dinner?
No. We provide a evening snack and breakfast the next morning.
Can we
bring our own food?
No. If someone in your troop has a food allergy or medical reason
that requires special dietary restrictions, please contact Parrish Crosby at least 2 weeks before the camp-in.
·My other child wants
to attend. What is the cost for a sibling?
Siblings are charged $20.00 per person. All siblings must be
of kindergarten age or older.
·We
want to work on two badges, is that possible?
No, due to the time it takes to complete a badge we can only complete
one a night.
Can an
individual scout participate in the camp-in
or does the whole troop need to participate?
Yes. If we have another troop booked and have room in the camp-in
you can sign-up individually.
What do
we need to bring?
Sleeping bag, toothbrush, other toiletries, and we recommend some
kind of pad or air mattress.
Can I get a refund if someone
cancels at the last minute?
A refund of 80% of
the program cost will be given if you
cancel 10 business days before the camp-in,
no refunds will be given after that
date.
Can I add scouts after the
final payment has been made?
If there is room
available and payment is received before
the camp-in.
Are there
other groups camping with us that night?
Yes. Scouts of the same level and type will be combined in the classroom
portion
of the evening. During a camp-in there may be Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts
and school groups present, but they sleep on different floors at
night and use separate bathrooms.
Does the price include an
IMAX?
Unfortunately, we do
not include an IMAX in our camp-in. Many
of the IMAX movies
at night are rated PG, PG-13 and they are not appropriate
for all ages. If you would like to add a movie to your camp-in,
contact Parrish Crosby to discuss your options.
Do you provide the badges,
belt loops, pins, etc. that the scouts have
earned?
We provide a VASC
Camp-in patch but not the official scout
awards.
Do members
to the museum get a discount?
We do not offer member discounts on Group Events.
Who can
do rockets?
We think that rockets are fun, really fun, so all Cub Scouts, Boy
Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts and Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts
can build rockets. |
